About The Hoya Trove

Hi, I'm Julia — and I have a hoya problem.

The Hoya Trove is a one-woman operation run out of Cornwall, New York, and that one woman is me. What started as a personal obsession with these extraordinary, waxy-leafed plants quietly grew into something I couldn't contain — more cuttings than windowsills, more varieties than I could reasonably justify, and eventually, a shop.

I didn't set out to start a nursery. I set out to collect one hoya. (If you're reading this, you probably know how that goes.)

Why Hoya?

Because nothing else quite compares. Hoya are forgiving, characterful, endlessly varied, and — when you're patient enough — they reward you with blooms so beautiful they look almost fake. I've kept and grown hundreds of varieties in my own collection, from common classics to rare imports, and I'm still not tired of them. I don't think I ever will be.

Every plant that leaves The Hoya Trove has been grown and cared for by me, personally. There's no warehouse, no team, no fulfillment center. It's just me, my plants, and a deep commitment to sending you something I'd be proud to keep myself.

What You Can Expect

I care about your plant's success as much as you do — probably more, honestly. That's why I pack carefully, ship thoughtfully, and include everything I know about keeping your new hoya happy. If you ever have questions, I'm genuinely here. Not a support ticket queue. Me.

I also mix my own substrate — the same Signature Rooting & Growth Blend I use for every plant in my collection — so your hoya arrives already in a medium it knows and loves. No transition shock, no guesswork.

A Few Things Worth Knowing

  • I'm based in Cornwall, New York, and I ship across the US.
  • Every order is packed by hand — by me — with care.
  • I grow what I love, which means my inventory reflects genuine enthusiasm, not just what's trending.
  • I want your plant to thrive. If something goes wrong, talk to me.
