Rlc. Siam Firework — an orchid tissue-culture plantlet, supplied in a humidity dome and still acclimating.
A laboratory-grown orchid plantlet, deflasked from its sterile tissue-culture vessel and kept in a humidity dome while it adjusts to life outside the flask. This is the option for growers who want to manage the acclimation themselves — it is earlier in the transition than our air-acclimated plantlets, and priced accordingly.
Source: Grown by Kanjarin Nursery, a respected tissue-culture producer.
On hybrid varieties: sibling seedlings from the same cross can express differently when they bloom — color, pattern, size, and fragrance may vary plant to plant. That genetic lottery is part of the appeal of growing tissue cultures.
The grow-on journey: from a deflasked plantlet, expect roughly 18-24 months to blooming size with good care — a listing for growers who enjoy the long game.
Care: keep the plantlet in high humidity — a dome, terrarium, or covered tray — and reduce ventilation gradually over several weeks to acclimate it to open air. Otherwise, follow standard TC establishment care: fine orchid media, bright indirect light, evenly moist (never waterlogged), and a very dilute (¼ strength) balanced orchid fertilizer once it is established.
Insulation and/or Heat Pack strongly recommended for shipping when temperatures drop below 50°F — plantlets are more cold-sensitive than mature orchids.
